Digital Media Lab Studio Technicians are here to help you get the most out of the Launchpad facilities and equipment. Studio Technicians are available to help you create bookings, consult on technical workflows, and ensure you have the right equipment to achieve your desired results. However, crewing your shoots is your responsibility and it’s up to you to arrange the support team required for the technical and creative elements of your studio booking.

Yes, Launchpad provides equipment and gear to any client that requires use and who can demonstrate competence to operate equipment safely.

You are more than welcome to use any of Launchpad’s gear or equipment within the Digital Media Lab Studio Spaces, as long as the equipment is being used appropriately and is not currently booked by another client.

Absolutely! Please do. As always, it is helpful for our Studio Technicians to know what equipment you plan to bring for your studio booking, in case we already have a comparable item or if there are any specific technical incompatibilities. If you plan on using your own lenses on Launchpad’s cameras, please show the equipment to the Studio Technicians to seek approval.

No. Unfortunately, we do not have direct control over the air conditioning or fan unit within the individual studios in the Digital Media Lab.

Bookings can be made in one-hour slots. Please plan accordingly, as you will need to ensure you are able to set up, shoot and strike your production in this time. This includes offloading media off cards & drives and ensuring you leave the space tidy for the next booking. Late penalties will apply for bookings that run past the booking time.
