RBC Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship Music Program

Any emerging professional in the music industry, such as a producer, instrumentalist, vocalist, rapper, songwriter, music manager, engineer, promoter, cultural curator, event planner, DJ, publisher. This program is targeted towards emerging professionals looking for mentorship and looking to grow their career in the music industry. What qualifies as “emerging” is a professional with little to no publication in mainstream media.
Participants will be selected based on level of professional ambition, demonstration of entrepreneurial spirit, music business organization capabilities, and overall personal goal alignment with the key objectives of the program. In addition to this, Artscape is committed to support participants from minority groups who are underrepresented in the music industry.
Applicants must be older than 18 and younger than 36 by the start of the program on January 11th, 2020.
Yes! The program is free-of-charge.
In addition to your personal and professional information, you will be asked to submit a short bio (250 words) and a description of a project you are currently working on or plan to start. This will help inform the programming and mentoring sessions you will participate in.

No, you do not need to be a Launchpad member to apply.

Yes. All programming will be held online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, given that Artscape Daniels Launchpad serves creatives in the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario, preference will be given to those living within close  proximity.

You will receive an email response in early December to inform you of the results of your application.

If your application is accepted, you will receive an email confirmation requesting you to confirm your intent and that you are able to attend 80% of the events. You will also be asked to join a mandatory introductory session by mid-December.

Yes, you may apply again if you have not been selected for the previous edition. Participants who have already participated will not be allowed to participate again.
Mandatory program will last 4 months starting in January, but some events might continue into June 2020. Main sessions will be held on Mondays at 5 pm until 7pm with extra mentoring sessions during the week. The program schedule is subject to change.
You will be required to attend 80% of the program and you will not be able to miss more than three (3) events in a row. Failure to attend the workshops will lead to cancellation of your participation and your spots will be granted to another applicant.
Selected participants will have access to a diverse selection of workshops, one-on-one mentoring, collaborative opportunities, and network building from January until mid 2021. All the programming will take place online.
