RBC Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship Music Program

Any emerging professional in the music industry, such as an artist, producer, instrumentalist, vocalist, rapper, songwriter, music manager, engineer, promoter, cultural curator, event planner, DJ. This program is targeted towards emerging professionals looking for mentorship and looking to grow their career in the music industry. What qualifies as “emerging” is a professional with little to no publication in mainstream media.
Minimum age of 19 years old since there will be paid opportunities. Maximum age is 35. You need to be older than 19 and younger than 36 by the start of the program on January 1st, 2023.
The program is free-of-charge.
Please be as precise and specific as you can when describing your goals and expectations for your music career! Let us know how the program will support you through the process and make sure to include as much detail about who you are and what you do! 
You will receive an email response in late December 2022 to inform you of your status, whether you have been successful or unsuccessful with your application.
Participants will be selected based on level of professional ambition, demonstration of entrepreneurial spirit, music business organization capabilities, and overall personal goal alignment with the main points of the program. In addition to this, Artscape is committed to support participants from minority groups who are underrepresented in the music industry.
Mandatory program will last 4 months starting in January but some events might continue into June 2023. main sessions will be held on Mondays at 5PM till 7PM. Group and mentoring sessions will offered during the week in evening times. Participants will be required to invest approximately 5 hours a week to the program. The program schedule is subject to change.
You will be required to attend 80% of the program and you will not be able to miss more than 3 events in a row. Failure to attend the mandatory workshops will lead to cancellation of your participation and your spots will be granted to another applicant.
Yes, you may apply again if you have been not selected for the previous edition. Participants who have already participated will not be allowed to participate again.
No,  you do not need to be a member of Launchpad or of Artscape to apply.
Absolutely! this program welcomes participants from all provinces of Canada.Majority of the programming will be held online however a number of social and performing activities will take place in Toronto.
If your application is accepted, you will receive an email confirmation requesting you to confirm your intent and that you are able to attend 80% of the events. You will also be asked to join a mandatory introductory session in late January.
Yes, all selected participants will receive Launchpad membership and access to studios for the duration of the program. Depending on your project needs you might be also granted the credits toward the Digital Media Lab.
Selected participants will have access to a diverse selection of workshops, 1-on-1 mentoring, collaborative and networking opportunities, Launchpad membership.

In addition to your personal/professional information you will be asked to submit a short bio (250 words) and a description of a project you are currently or plan to start working on. this will help us better understand how to accurately tailor the programming and mentoring sessions.
