About The RBC Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship Program
The RBC Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship Program is dedicated to supporting and empowering artists, producers, managers, agents, and entrepreneurs. The objective of the program is to assist participants through an educational and networking platform that will better their understanding of how to develop their initiatives in a sustainable and profitable way. The Program is open for emerging artists, producers, DJs and entrepreneurs who are active in the Canadian music scene, with varying levels of experience.
THE PROGRAM WILL:
Support participants by providing weekly workshops on a wide range of topics that will complement participants' main practice. Components will include, but not be limited to:
Music business accounting Entrepreneurship Grant development Creative direction Publishing And more!
IT WILL ALSO INCLUDE:
A vibrant, collaborative community of fellow emerging creators, artists and music makers Up to 20 workshop topics One-on-one mentorship with music industry leaders and professionals Coaching and assessment on your own personal projects

APPLICATION PROCESS
To be eligible to apply for the RBC Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship program, applicants must:+ Be between the ages of 18 and 35+ Be an emerging and/or practicing artist, music creator or entrepreneur+ Be based in Canada as either a citizen or legal resident
TIME COMMITMENT
Participants will be required to attend one weekly workshop and dedicate approximately five hours a week to the program. Participants will also be required to attend 80% of the programming.
CRITERIA
The following criteria will be used to assess your application submission:
Have an entrepreneurial desire to advance their creative practice/business Be in the early stages of their career and art form Demonstrate a commitment to devoting more time to their artistic activity Have little presentation, recording, or publication history Must be willing to engage and collaborate as part of the cohort of participants with a wide and differing range of experience
ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION
This is an opportunity to learn from other creatives and related industry mentors who have succeeded as music entrepreneurs. The program goal is for participants to gain a better understanding of the different strategies, team structures and available opportunities that can help them develop their own projects and initiatives. The syllabus is designed to provide participants with a wide range of options and examples for the diverse career and entrepreneurial pathways in today’s dynamic creative industries. Program beneficiaries will include emerging artists, audio professionals, creatives and entrepreneurs in the music industry. The Program has a limited number of spots, and begins in January 2023.
