About The RBC Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship Program
The RBC Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship Program is divided into 3 categories that represent the primary areas of work in the music business. Programming will cover most of the topics involved in each category, as well as the interconnection and cross-pollination between these different areas:
+ Music Business & Entrepreneurship
+ Artistic & Creative Direction
+ Events, Performances & Community Building
The Program Will Include:
+ A vibrant, collaborative community of fellow emerging creators, artists, and music makers
+ Up to 20 workshops topics such as grant writing, creative direction, marketing strategies, touring, legal literacy, and more.
+ One-on-one mentorship with music industry leaders and professionals
+ Coaching and assessment on your own personal projects
Music Business & Entrepreneurship
The MB&E component is dedicated to informing participants of the different strategies and roles that take place within the development of a sustainable project. Touching on topics that range from revenue streams to pitching ideas to legal literacy, this category aims to deepen participant understanding of business, roles and team infrastructure.
Topics include:
Music Licensing Legal, Contracts, Split Sheets Revenue Streams Pitching Ideas Marketing Strategies Creating a Budget Touring
Artistic & Creative Direction
The A&CD component is dedicated to broadening participants’ understanding of the creative process behind building an artistic brand or identity. Touching on topics that range from ideation to branding to case studies, this category aims to increase participant awareness of the strategies, roles and team-structures that can facilitate the creative process of developing an original artistic identity.

Artistic Development Branding Creative Workshops (Songwriting & Production) Masterclasses Creative Briefs Collaborations
Events, Performances & Community Building
The EP&CB component will be curated events, performances and talks dedicated to actively engage participants within their local music community. This category aims to deepen participant understanding and engagement with different projects, institutions and agents that can help develop a healthy and connected pipeline in the music scene.

Performance Series Meetups & Gatherings Cultural Curation Event Planning Community Engagement
To be eligible to apply for a RBC Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship Program, applicants must:
To be eligible to apply for a RBC Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship Program, applicants must:
+ Be between the ages of 18 and 35
+ Be an emerging and/or practicing artist, music creator or entrepreneur
Criteria
The following criteria will be used to assess your application submission:
Have an entrepreneurial desire to advance their creative practice/business Be in the early stages of their career and art form Demonstrate a commitment to devoting more time to their artistic activity Have little presentation, recording or publication history
Additional Information
This is an opportunity to learn from other creatives and related industry mentors who have succeeded as music entrepreneurs. The program goal is for participants to gain a better understanding of the different strategies, team structures and available opportunities that can help them develop their own projects and initiatives. The RBC Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship Program syllabus is designed to provide participants with a wide range of options and examples for the diverse career and entrepreneurial pathways in today’s dynamic creative industries. Program beneficiaries will include emerging artists, audio professionals, creatives and entrepreneurs in the music industry. The four (4) month program has a limited number of spots and starts January 2021.
